a letter from us...

Hi. We're getting married. Which is wild.

Because when we matched on Hinge, the plan was not to fall in love. The plan, no joke, was to start a fake fight during dinner so we could make a dramatic exit and avoid paying the check.

But instead, we ended up splitting a swordfish steak (bold move), laughing for three hours, and leaving with that weird “oh no, I might actually like this person” feeling. So yeah — that backfired.

The steak was mid. The date was not.

After that first date, everything just... clicked. We had the same values, the same politics, the same sense of humor, and, most importantly, a shared desire to keep God at the center of our relationship. Not in a cute bumper sticker way. In a “this is how we make decisions, show up for each other, and build something that lasts” kind of way.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously. But we do take this commitment very seriously. Because this isn’t just a wedding. It’s a covenant. And that matters to us more than anything.

‍

December 7, 2024. Alexandria, Virginia. Angelique thought it was a family trip for Cameron.

It wasn’t.

Her whole family was secretly there. The rooftop of Hotel Heron was decked out in candles and flowers. A hotel staffer casually dropped, “You should check out the rooftop for a potential JAGMAC show,” and even though it was freezing, Angelique went up to investigate.

What she found was a ring, a nervous man, and an elaborate setup she was absolutely not emotionally prepared for.

Cue: full tears. Cue: twelve F-bombs. Cue: an eventual, tearful, “yes.”

Proof that she said yes. And cried. And swore. A lot.

We were originally planning on Italy. Because... pasta. But then we visited Cabrera in the Dominican Republic and fell in love. With the town. With the people. With the villa. With the mangoes.

It had the perfect mix of peace, joy, beauty, and spiritual grounding. It felt like the place God wanted us to start our life together. So we changed our plans, booked the villa, and said, “Let’s do this.”

We joke around a lot. We roast each other constantly. But underneath all of it is a deep, honest love — and a whole lot of prayer. We’ve been through things, grown through things, and asked God to keep us rooted the whole way through.

We're building this marriage with intention. And with laughter. Lots and lots of inappropriate, borderline blasphemous laughter. (Don’t worry... He gets us.)

We’re so grateful you’re part of this. Thanks for loving us, supporting us, and saying yes to being part of this wild, holy, unforgettable celebration.

Let’s party. Let’s pray. Let’s go.

Cameron & Angelique

‍

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved,
clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Bear with each other and forgive one another…
And over all these virtues, put on love,
which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

Chill, Explore, or Rest

There’s no official agenda — this one’s for you.

Whether you're lounging by the pool, grabbing a massage, hitting a beach, or wandering Cabrera for great coffee or tacos, Sunday is all about choosing your own adventure.

Hotel Casablanca guests: Enjoy the quiet luxury of the property — poolside lounging, cold drinks, and spontaneous hangouts welcome.

Offsite guests:
We'll send a curated list of our favorite local food spots, beaches, and things to do if you're feeling adventurous.

Optional group brunch details coming soon — check your guest guide closer to the date.

‍

Monday Sept 15

Departure Day

All good things must end. Even open bars and sun-kissed group selfies.

Monday is farewell day. Villa guests will have shuttles back to the airport (yes, we’re sending you off in style). Offsite guests will get transportation info in the guest guide, along with a helpful reminder that you still have to go through TSA.

We’ll be around in the morning for teary hugs, last-minute photo swaps, and dramatic goodbyes that may or may not involve someone hiding behind a palm tree refusing to leave.

Let’s just agree now: no one says “see you soon” while wearing sunglasses indoors unless they’re crying.

‍

Let’s Make This Official

It’s time to RSVP — and tell us who’s coming with you.
‍

So… you in or what?

Let us know if you’re joining us in the DR, so we can save you a beach chair and a Coco-Loco.
THANK YOU!
